KRONOS System Updater v3.2.3 and the New “EXs43 Glasper’s Grand & EP” Expansion Sound, co-created with Robert Glasper, are now available!

We are pleased to announce the release of KRONOS System Updater v3.2.3, the latest update for KORG’s flagship music workstation, trusted by professionals around the world.

This update introduces a new model to the EP-1 electric piano sound engine. Alongside the update, KORG is also offering the new “EXs43 Glasper’s Grand & EP” expansion sound library, co-created with Grammy- and Emmy Award-winning artist Robert Glasper, as a free download from the KORG Shop.

The latest KRONOS update, System Updater v3.2.3, adds a highly anticipated new model to the EP-1 electric piano sound engine. This expressive new model provides a powerful foundation for advanced, artist-driven sound design.

EXs43 Glasper’s Grand & EP
EXs43 is the result of a close collaboration between KORG and internationally renowned pianist, keyboardist, and KORG KRONOS artist Robert Glasper. More than a conventional preset library, it is the first in a new series of collaboratively developed sound collections designed to bring the distinctive sonic character of an artist’s own instruments into the KRONOS environment.

The project began when Robert approached KORG with a question: “Could we capture the sounds of a particular grand piano and electric piano and put them into my KRONOS?” Having often encountered pianos of inconsistent quality while touring, he wanted a personal signature sound that he could trust completely, wherever he performed. For Robert, having consistent access to his own sound would be an invaluable asset on tour.

The process began with an intensive ten-day recording session at the legendary Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles, now known as Chaplin Recording Studios. This was followed by more than a year of meticulous editing and fine-tuning.

Using the new EP model introduced in System Updater v3.2.3, Robert and the KORG development team carried out extensive sound design. The resulting sounds have already undergone rigorous real-world road testing over the course of a six-month world tour.
