Experience the 17th Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition Prize Winners’ Concerts with the KORG DS-DAC series

KORG is proud to announce the DSD Live Streaming of the internationally known Chopin Competition, held every 5 years in Chopin’s hometown of Warsaw, Poland. It is one of the world’s most influential competitions, said to be in the world’s top three along with the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition and the International Tchaikovsky Competition. With many renowned performers having been past prize winners, the competition is significant as a gateway to success for pianists aspiring to become the world’s top musicians.
 
The auditions for this year’s competition began on October 3, followed by the final rounds on October 18-20, and the Prize Winners' Concerts on October 21-23.
 
We will be delivering the following two Prize Winners’ Concerts streaming live in DSD format.
 
1) Date: Thursday, October 22 , 2015 / starts 19:00- CEST

The streaming player “PrimeSeat v1.1.0 beta,” available for both Windows and Mac OS X, will be provided through http://dsd.st/ beginning on October 21. This player supports direct DSD playback when used with the KORG DS-DAC series, as well as select other DSD-DACs listed below. Thanks to Korg’s powerful conversion algorithms from their acclaimed AudioGate software, PrimeSeat can also convert the DSD stream to standard PCM at sample rates from 44.1kHz to 192kHz, enabling even those without DSD hardware to listen at higher-than-CD quality.

Note: the older "PrimeSeat v1.0.0 beta” cannot be used to play these concerts.

Audio Device:
[Windows] An audio device that supports WASAPI, DirectSound, or ASIO
* An audio device that supports ASIO DSD mode is required for native DSD playback
[Mac]  An audio device that supports Core Audio
* A KORG DS-DAC series product or an audio device that supports DoP (DSD over PCM frame) is required for native DSD playback

Note: The DS-DAC-100 and DS-DAC-100m are not yet compatible with Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan, and we advise users not to update your operating system until compatible drivers have been released. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Network
- A stable high-speed internet connection of more than 12Mbps is required.
- Wired LAN connection recommended
- PrimeSeat does not support HTTP Proxies and may not work properly when connected to networks where a proxy is required for internet connection.
