Bill Payne

Bill Payne

We are defined as musicians by how we play.
We are greatly influenced by what we hear, and by the tactile expression of an instrument.
We are ultimately set free by a transparency that separates us from everything but the act of creativity.

The Kronos is my definitive choice for writing, touring, or simply letting myself explore.
The tools are all there to aid and abet anything I want to do.

Imagination is served well by this extraordinary instrument.

The Kronos is a transformative experience.

- Bill Payne (Keyboardist/Doobie Brothers; Keyboardist/founding member of Little Feat)

For the past four decades, Bill Payne has spent most of his time on the road, in studios and working with rock n’ roll hall of famers. He’s one of rock’s most talented keyboardists, a legitimate legend among his peers. In addition to great songs with Little Feat: Oh Atlanta, Time Loves A Hero, Tripe Face Boogie, Truck Stop Girl, he has written twenty songs with Robert Hunter. A founding member of Little Feat, he’s appeared on hundreds of studio albums & toured with James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Bob Seger, Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Jimmy Buffett, and the Doobie Brothers. In 2015 he is on tour with Leftover Salmon, where he is a full-fledged member. He is also still a member of Little Feat, and is developing paths with Larry Campbell, and Darrell Scott.
