Bill Payne

Bill Payne

“I’ve been using an SV-1, which is one of my favorites. I think sounds are really what motivate musicians to do what we do, which is to play. It inspires to dig deeper into our repertoire as a musician and figure out how to blend with other musicians we’re playing with. That’s been the fun with me with synths in general, and KORG in particular!” - Bill Payne

For the past four decades, Bill Payne has spent most of his time on the road, in studios and working with rock n’ roll hall of famers. He’s one of rock’s most talented keyboardists, a legitimate legend among his peers. In addition to great songs with Little Feat: Oh Atlanta, Time Loves A Hero, Tripe Face Boogie, Truck Stop Girl, he has written twenty songs with Robert Hunter. A founding member of Little Feat, he’s appeared on hundreds of studio albums & toured with James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Bob Seger, Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Jimmy Buffett, and the Doobie Brothers. In 2015 he is on tour with Leftover Salmon, where he is a full-fledged member. He is also still a member of Little Feat, and is developing paths with Larry Campbell, and Darrell Scott.
