Overview Synthesis

Professional, Multi-format Analog and Digital I/OThe OASYS PCI features a total of 12 inputs and outputs: stereo analog, stereo S/PDIF, and eight-channel ADAT optical. Naturally, all inputs and outputs are 24-bit, and all can be used simultaneously with compatible multitrack audio software. Korg knows that in music, timing is everything, and so the onboard DSP processing power provides zero-latency record monitoring - even with effects! Korg always keeps the needs of professional studios in mind, so we've provided Word clock and ADAT timecode I/O to ensure easy integration with other digital audio equipment. Easy Interconnectivity with Third-Party Audio CardsOASYS PCI's synths and effects are well-integrated with its computer audio I/O features - but it's just as happy to work as a stand-alone synthesizer and effects processor, just like any other external device. In other words, you can use the OASYS PCI as a synth and effects processor without using it as an audio I/O card - while using another card as your main audio I/O. Korg has tested OASYS PCI in conjunction with various other audio cards running in the same computer, including MOTU 2408 (and other MOTU PCI324-based systems), Creamware Pulsar and Scope, Digidesign 001, and ProTools TDM. Using any audio card with ADAT I/O, it's easy to run 8 channels of 24-bit digital audio between the other card and the OASYS PCI. This allows you to send audio from the card through OASYS PCI effects, and then send the result back into the other card again, all in the digital domain. This also allows you to send OASYS PCI synthesizer outputs directly into any audio program using the other card, for recording or further processing. You can also use S/PDIF and analog I/O, for a total of 12 channels of input and output between the two systems. Finally, you can use third-party ADAT-to-analog converters for multi-channel connectivity with non-ADAT systems, such as the MOTU 1224. |
