Windows installation problems

If you get an installation error while installing the OASYS PCI drivers, it is possible for the Windows registry to become corrupted. This can lead to the Multimedia Control Panel showing an incorrect version number for the OASYS PCI driver - for instance, the Control Panel Driver Properties might show the drivers as being version 2.0, when they are really still 1.0.

To correct this, follow the un-install directions below, and then re-install the OASYS PCI drivers.

Un-installing the Windows drivers

To completely uninstall the OASYS PCI drivers, in preparation for a clean install:

1. Remove the OASYS PCI card from the computer

2. Boot the PC, and then remove the following files from your C:\windows\system\ folder:

OasysPCI.drv

OasysPCI.vxd

OasysPM.exe

WaveCP.exe

3. Go to the Windows Control Panel, enter the Add/Remove Programs function, select "Korg OasysPCI" from the list and press "OK" to uninstall the OASYS PCI software.

4. Go to the "Run" dialog and type "Regedit". In the registry editor, go to the folder Hkey_current_user/Software/. In that folder there is a folder called "Korg;" select and delete this folder.

5. Shut down the computer.

6. Put OASYS PCI back into the PCI slot.

7. Power up, go to the OASYS PCI driver in Control Panel->System->Device Manager (it will have an exclamation point icon now) and double click on it. press the update driver button and follow the standard procedure for updating the OASYS PCI driver.

8. Use the OASYS PCI setup software to reinstall the OasysPCI software.

9. Restart.

At this point, all OasysPCI related driver files and registry entries will removed from the computer. You may now perform a clean installation of the OASYS PCI software.
