If you can't find the answers to your questions in this FAQ, please contact your local Korg dealer, or your national Korg distributor, for technical support.

Information required when contacting technical support

When contacting technical support, it is very important that you provide us with information about your system. Without complete information, we may not be able to provide a complete solution! So, please make sure to include the following:

  • Apple System Profiler report (MacOS) or Microsoft System Information report (Windows 98). These reports provide invaluable information about the system hardware and software. Click on the links for instructions on how to create and save these reports.
  • Make and model of computer (e.g., Dell Inspiron, Apple Power Macintosh 9600/233 etc.)
  • Motherboard, chipset, and processor type (Windows only)
  • Operating system (e.g., MacOS 8.6, Windows 98 etc.)
  • OASYS PCI software version
  • OASYS PCI audio buffer size setting
  • Digital audio software (including version number, e.g., Cubase VST/24 4.0)
  • Audio protocol (ASIO, MME, or Sound Manager, or OASYS PCI used as stand-alone synth/effects with another audio card, such as MOTU 2408)
  • Connected digital audio devices (mixers, multitracks, DAT machines, effects, etc.), including a description of how all devices are connected (e.g., 168RC ADAT out to OASYS PCI ADAT in)
  • Word clock settings on all software and connected digital audio devices
  • All other installed PCI cards
  • Memory Control Panel settings (MacOS Only)

Saving an Apple System Profiler report

To save an Apple System Profiler report:

1. Open the Apple System Profiler program.

By default, this is installed in the Apple Menu. If you cannot find it there, use the Find command (File->Find, or command-F) to locate the program.

2. Select "New Report" from the File menu.

A dialog box will appear, asking what types of information you'd like to include in the report.

3. Make sure that all of the boxes are checked.

4. Press OK.

The program will gather the system information. When it is done, a new window will appear, containing the all sorts of helpful information about your system.

5. Select "Save" from the File menu to save the file.

Saving a Microsoft System Information report

To save a Microsoft System Information report:

1. Open the Microsoft System Information program.

By default, this is installed in Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools.

A window will appear, showing information about the system.

2. Select "Save" from the File menu to save the information.

Use the default file type, MSInfo.
