How can I get SynthKit?

SynthKit is the MacOS program used to create all of the synthesizer and effects plug-ins for OASYS PCI. It is a fairly complex program, developed for internal use by Korg's DSP engineers. SynthKit is not publicly released, and is not part of the OASYS PCI product, but it is available to OASYS PCI users and plug-in developers as beta software.

To apply for the SynthKit beta-test, please send mail to synthkit-request@korgrd.com.

Please note that SynthKit is available for MacOS only; no Windows version is planned.

Why is SynthKit available only for MacOS?

Korg began developing SynthKit in the early 1990's, long before OASYS PCI. Unlike OASYS PCI, SynthKit was designed for internal use only, and was not intended to be a commercial product. As such, it was created in the most expedient way possible, using a development environment which was fairly MacOS-specific. Porting it to another operating system (such as Windows) would unfortunately be a major task, and is thus not possible at this time.
