Janne Warman of Children of Bordem

Hailing from Espoo, Finland, metal band Children of Bordem are currently on tour throughout the U.S. and the world in support of their April 2008 release, Blooddrunk, on Spinefarm records. With a name derived from the most notorious mass murders in Scandinavian history, Children of Bodom revel in the darker side of metal.

Bodom keyboardist Janne Warman has discovered a brighter side, however, in his collection of Korg keyboards. He finds them essential elements for their live show. “I use X5s and X5Ds as MIDI controllers on stage,” he explains. “I own about 8 to10 of those! I also have the RADIAS, MS2000B Rack and an SP-200.” Janne continues, “The X5 is the perfect controller for me because of its compact size. Also having the numerical buttons in two rows instead of that ‘telephone’-setup makes changing sounds when playing live easier. I bought the RADIAS to get some fresh effects when making our previous album, Blooddrunk, and we did use it quite a lot.”

C.O.B. are getting ready to head off on a U.S. Tour (along with fellow Korg endorsee Tommy Rogers of Between the Buried and Me) and The Black Dahlia Murder. The tour kicks off in Baltimore on September 11th and ends in Worcester on October 10th. And, as if touring the world for months on end is not enough, Janne is also working on a new solo album with his own project, Warmen, which he hopes to release in early 2009.
